Happy 1 Month Blogiversary to Another Thread!

Outfit post of me with a Club Monaco beanie, APC leather jacket, Acne scarf, Ace & Jig Diamond Caravan pants, and gold Dieppa Restrepo Penny Loafers.

If you can believe it, it's already been a month since I started this place on the web! I wanted to take this moment to say thank you for reading and following and clicking and commenting! Thank you for the support, and kind words and even alerting ME to sales and deals that I didn't know about!

Running this blahg has been time-consuming and stressful, but also super rewarding, and I wanted to take a moment to reflect on this project so far

This whole thing has been a major learning process, expedited by my impending layoff (yup, I'm still in employment limbo), which has allowed me to work on this project nearly full-time for the past month.

It's been great to apply my UX skills to something that is completely my own, and to learn new adjacent skills like coding and SEO. And even now I'm continuing to learn new things and trying to improve what's here (is anyone here an SEO expert? 'Cause I have no idea what I'm doing on that front and would love tips!). I'm always open to ideas and suggestions of what you'd like to see on here, and offers to help are very welcome, though I will, of course,  have ultimate editorial say in what does or does not get published.

And this blog is real work! Just to throw some numbers at you, I've managed to publish 105 posts in the past 30 days. 106 if you count this one. That's an average of 3.5 posts per day — weekends and holidays included. Even I was surprised by that stat!

I doubt it will always be like this, since I do need to eventually job hunt and all that, and I've decided to make that a priority for myself this month, after taking April to settle myself emotionally. Sadly, full-time blogging doesn't pull in nearly enough cash for me to live above the poverty line (not that I ever planned for this to be a full-time gig), and I'm not married to someone who has a well-paying job... yet.

I'm still planning to keep up the posting on this blog, though perhaps at a less frenetic pace, but I have no idea what my blogging availability will be once I start working again, so there may need to be adjustments when the time comes. But hey, it's been a hell of a ride so far, and a great distraction from the mess that is my life.

Once again, I wanted to thank you so much for following along and supporting this venture! Thanks to you, I've managed to make a modest (though pending) sum from running this thing, and though it's far less than minimum wage, I'm thrilled that I can do something I love, help the good people of the Ace & Jig community, and make a few bucks doing it too.

I'd love to hear your thoughts about what you've liked and not liked so far, and what you'd like to see in the future. Please leave a comment below!

  1. It's been so much fun to follow along and see this dream come to fruition Wendy! I'm MEGA proud of you!!

I'd love to hear more of your textile reviews and close-ups. Some of my favorite blogs post really sporadically, but they keep some consistency with thematic posts on certain days, so maybe that's an achievable goal, even when things get crazy, just knowing once a week or month you'll do a review will keep me coming back time and time again!!

And CONCATS my friend. Your work is so valued.
